The role of the grasshopper and the cricket in the sonnet of poetry of earth

 ' The poetry of Earth ' was originally published in 30th December,1816with the original title'on the grasshopper and the cricket' dealing with the performance of the nature.

This Petrarchan sonnet beings with the line where Keats assures us that the beats of the earth is unending process, glorifies two insects Grasshopper and Cricket .They take the lead to continue the rythm of the nature.

In the searing heat of the summer noon the song birds,the legitimate sters faint,they took shelter in the leafy cool then there create a void in nature .But the lay of the nature does not stop.The Grasshopper appears then to continue the unending process. It move from the hedge to hedge and buzzing loudly to accomplish the process.In this way the Grasshopper breaks the painful silence in the nature.

             'a voice will run

      From hedge to hedge about the new mound mend.

               That is the grasshoppers.......he take the lead.

Similarly same scene is seen in the winter where the Grasshopper transferes his duty to another bard ,Cricket.The winters evenings are desolate and sombre.And the frost depens on the cold of the winter eve.A painful silence is solemenised in the brumal ambience.Then the cricket shrills loudly and it's buzzing break the painful silence in nature.In this way cricket continues the free flow of the music of nature.

             'on a lone winter evening,when the frost /Has wought a silence,from the stove there shrills/The cricket's song warmth increasing ever. '

                 In this way two mistrels carry on the music in day and day out and weal and woes season after season.
